The Roller Lift Transfer Unit is a gentle way to transfer large, thin panel-like products from one conveyor to another. When your client’s product, such as solar panels or electronic circuit board panels, is part of an automation process, the Roller Lift Transfer Unit specializes in supporting the panel throughout the transfer process on both the edges and center to avoid breakage.
Why the Roller Lift Transfer Unit Might Be a Good Fit
Roller Lift Transfer Units employ a series of rollers to lift and engage the payload perpendicular to the direction of flow. The lifting action raises the payload from the in feed conveyor so it can be moved onto the adjacent transport conveyor. The unit is bi-directional and can be set up to manage two-, three-, and four-way traffic control conditions.
Often, a process involving panel-like products will need to move panels of various sizes at any given time. This could involve up to four or five conveyor strands. The Roller Lift Transfer Unit can handle these differently-sized panels on multiple strands to lift the thin panel off the conveyor and onto another line carefully. It’s built specifically to avoid damaging delicate products.
The Roller Lift Transfer Unit solves these challenges for manufacturers:
-
PRODUCT DAMAGE: The unit helps limit or prevent product damage since it supports the product all the way across its surface area as it transfers.
-
LARGE SURFACE AREA PRODUCT MOVEMENT: The Roller Lift Transfer Unit lifts the product across all conveyor lines to transfer to the adjacent conveyor, no matter the width of the product.
-
FLIMSY PANEL SUPPORT: Supporting the product at both the center and edges means flimsy panels aren’t bending during transfer.
-
TRAFFIC CONTROL: Move the product in any direction needed using the Roller Lift Transfer Unit.
-
MAINTENANCE: This device utilizes ball-bearing supported rolling elements for long maintenance-free operation
-
CLEAN ROOM CERTIFIED: The Roller Lift Transfer Unit can be certified for use in clean room environments, and there are antistatic materials available to suit operation in static-sensitive areas or with static-sensitive payloads
Perhaps most appealing of all to our integrators’ clients, the Roller Lift Transfer Unit is a stand-alone unit. It isn’t running a belt on the bottom of the conveyor along all units, so it’s not accumulating or overrunning; each station has its own individual control and individual belt. The 25mm wide polyurethane core T5 timing belt with steel tension members is strong and virtually maintenance-free.
Glide-Line has experience developing unique solutions from scratch to solve specific challenges for integrators and their clients. We even wrote a blog post about it. Our “customized standard” solutions - including the Roller Lift Transfer Unit - solve these challenges at a fraction of the cost of customized solutions another manufacturer might propose.
