Solve an Expensive Visualization Problem Simply with the Tilting Deck VTU

on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 By | Craig Newberry | 0 Comments | Flexible Conveyor Solutions Vertical Transport Conveyors
The Tilting Deck Vertical Transfer Unit from Glide-Line allows for vertical transfer of a product and has the ability to tilt the conveyor deck (our current design is up to 30 degrees, but we could increase). This provides access to the product being transported vertically for visual inspection or other automated processes. Whereas our competitors don’t have a standard option for a conveyor mechanism like this, Glide-Line builds this component as a standard, with our clients able to customize the angle of the tilt to exactly what they need.

How Direct Product Handling Conveyors Solve Five Control Challenges

on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 By | Craig Newberry | 0 Comments | Solutions for Applications Engineers Flexible Conveyor Solutions
Glide-Line’s Direct Product Handling Conveyor and its Zero Contact Zoned Conveyor for Appliance Handling are zero-pressure zoned conveyors designed to handle appliance parts or products directly on the conveyor belt (with no pallet on the conveyor system). These conveyors are built for fragile or delicate products and utilize a high friction surface on the conveyor belt to prevent the products from slipping. Further, these are designed to be used in a zero pressure drive method to maintain maximum control over the product motion through an automation process: no touching, no damage.

New Ways To Combine Multiple Functions and Tasks Within One Conveyor Lift

on Monday, December 10, 2018 By | Craig Newberry | 2 Comments | Conveyor System Designs Vertical Transport Conveyors
Utilizing minimal space to develop an automation process is a common challenge with our integrator clients; conveyor systems that reduce floor space are the solution. Consider completing tasks within an elevator application to significantly reduce the conveyor floor space that would otherwise be needed to complete the process off the main line. This solution can help:

Can I Automatically Load a Conveyor Rack Or Shelving System From My Conveyor Process?

on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 By | Craig Newberry | 2 Comments | Flexible Conveyor Solutions Vertical Transport Conveyors
Loading a conveyor rack or shelving system as part of your conveyor process can easily become a labor-intensive task. It can slow your process if you don’t automate it. And your clients don’t typically have the extra arm and leg lying around to pay for an automated system.

3 Ways to Save Space by Integrating Vertically Stacked Conveyors and VTUs

on Thursday, November 1, 2018 By | Craig Newberry | 0 Comments | Conveyor System Designs Vertical Transport Conveyors
When you’re faced with the challenge of limited space for a new conveyor line, vertical transfer units (VTUs) can save the day. The most common way traditional conveyor manufacturers save space with a vertical transport unit is by creating a return path under (or over) the main line. But there are lots of ways to utilize VTUs in a line to reduce conveyor system floor space.

Can I Accumulate Vertically To Create a Buffer/Accumulator For My Pallet Handling Conveyor System?

on Monday, October 29, 2018 By | Craig Newberry | 0 Comments | Vertical Transport Conveyors
In the engineering world, you normally think you move things horizontally on a flat plane and you lift devices using an elevator (a vertical transport unit, or VTU). Typically, you wouldn’t think to use conveyors to move anything vertically, other than maybe returning empty pallets to the front of the line, or in similar use cases. Applying conveyors to move things vertically is a new way of thinking. These are some examples of different VTUs and recent ways our integrator clients have creatively implemented our conveyor applications to create a buffer for their pallet handling conveyor systems.

How Can I Create a Bypass While Continuing To Feed the Rest of My Conveyor Line?

on Monday, October 22, 2018 By | Craig Newberry | 0 Comments | Flexible Conveyor Solutions Vertical Transport Conveyors
When vertical transfer units aren’t tied to single-function designs, the sky's the limit and possibilities of use are greatly expanded. VTUs create greater access within an automated conveyor system. Instead of requiring an employee, maintenance worker, or robot to move, climb, or adjust to various points on a conveyor to perform an operation, using a lift within the conveyor line creates access to the product without loss of time.

What Are The Different Size and Weight Limitations For My Pallet on a Conveyor Elevator?

on Friday, October 19, 2018 By | Craig Newberry | 0 Comments | Conveyor System Designs Configurable Conveyor Technology
Vertical transfer units (VTUs – otherwise known as pallet elevators) can perform functions that would otherwise require another piece – or multiple pieces – of equipment within a conveyor system. This solution saves the space that would have been taken up by ancillary equipment and makes the automated conveyor system more efficient to operate, assemble, and maintain. But one question we frequently receive about these vertical transfer units is about size and weight capacities.
