A Better Way to Convey Wide Products on a Curved Path

on Thursday, June 24, 2021 By | Ryan Beerley | 0 Comments | Wide Products Direct Product Handling
When conveying a wide product directly on a conveyor, conventional conveying systems can be bulky and inflexible. Conveying on a traditional roller conveyor, results in tremendously large radiuses and takes up a ton of floor space. Try doing things like adding custom features like VTUs or rotate units to the line and it gets even more challenging. In short, when conveying a wide product and the line needs a curved path, conventional conveyors often create a myriad of operational issues.

A stop in the line can easily cause pallets to bang into each other, leading to product damage. Many are searching for a better solution, so we introduced Glide-Line’s Zero Contact Zoned Conveyor. With Glide-Line’s Zero Contact Zoned Conveyor solution, “hard stops” are a thing of the past. With products moving smoothly from station to station, partially and fully-assembled products can be handled without the risk of product damage.
